First Aid Training

Lectures, interactive video demonstrations, discussions and hands-on training teach participants how to recognize emergency situations, check the scene and call for help and avoid blood borne pathogen exposure, care for wounds, bone, and soft tissue injuries, head and spinal injuries, burns, and heat and cold emergencies and manage sudden illness, stroke, seizures, bites and poisoning
Certification is valid for three years
Class length: One 4 hour session..

 


Adult CPR/AED

A. In addition to the satisfaction of knowing that you are helping the Red Cross to do important work, there are tax benefits to making significant gifts. For example, when you make a contribution of appreciated securities, you are eligible for a tax deduction and may be able to avoid paying capital gains tax. Infant CPR

Designed for anyone who cares for children. Combines video, hands on practice and discussion. Learn to recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in infants.
Certification is valid for one year
Class length: One 4 hour session.


Pet First Aid

Learn how to protect both you and your pet from injury. Perform rescue breathing and learn what to do if your pet is choking. Perform CPR on your dog or cat. Stop bleeding, splint broken bones, and treat for shock. Prevent and handle poisonings. Take care of your pet if bitten by a snake. Handle sudden illness, including car sickness. Treat your pet for exposure to extreme heat or cold... and more!!! 

 


Learn-to-Swim Program

A. Held annually between the months of June-August. Teaches various levels that include:

Level 1 -- Introduction to Water Skills
Level 2 -- Fundamental Aquatic Skills
Level 3 -- Stroke Development
Level 4 -- Stroke Improvement
Level 5 -- Stroke Refinement
Level 6 -- Swimming and Skill Proficiency


CPR for the Professional Rescuer

Recognizing and responding to breathing and cardiac emergencies; two rescuer CPR; use of resuscitation and bag valve masks. This course is designed for people with the duty to respond in an emergency or the professional workplace setting.
Certification is valid for one year
Class length: Two 4 hour sessions
(Must attend both sessions)


Food Service First Aid

This course will focus on learning and mastering basic, quick efficient methods of first aid needed in a restaurant environment.  The program is very time and cost efficient. This 2 hour program will include the following areas of training:

·        The Emergency Medical Services

·        Emergency Action Steps

·        Personal Protection

·        Five Common Emergencies

·        Falls, Burns, and Lacerations

·        Hypothermia and Heat Cramps

·        Choking
