Lifeline Program Is Now
Available
Lifeline
is the oldest and largest provider of Personal
Emergency Response Systems. It
was founded in 1974 by a husband-and-wife team of
gerontologists-Drs. Andrew S. and Susan Dibner.
Lifeline has served over 5 million people since
its inception.
The Wyoming Valley Chapter is pleased to offer this
life-saving service to our community.
What
is Lifelines’ purpose?
Lifeline
is a medic alert system created to help older, at-risk
people remain independent in their own homes and how
it is done is through emergency response and personal
support. Lifeline
is both a way to access immediate help if an accident
or sudden illness occurs and a way to get support or
reassurance on an as needed basis.
Typical
subscribers are:
- Older
adults who live alone or spend large portions of
the day on their own
- Many
of them have mobility problems which may make them
prone to falls or other accidents
- They
often have one or more chronic medical problems
that put them at risk
- They
may require assistance with one or more activities
of daily living.
Lifeline
offers peace of mind not only to the subscriber, but
also family members, and referral sources when this
service is in place.
It allows the adult children to go off to work
every day feeling secure knowing that mom or dad can
get help quickly just by pushing a button.
Lifeline
is affordable, this service is provided on a month by
month basis, and no leases are required.
There is a one time installation fee and low
monthly monitor fee of a little more than a $1.00 a
day. Call 823-7161 and ask Bobbie Shendock for more information.
